Nobel Prize and Evangelism

How many pastors have told their members, either in a sermon or individually, that the best message to share about Christ is their own. Now we have scientific proof, of a kind . Two physicists discovered a simple, one atom thick, piece of graphite [graphene]is more powerful than they ever thought. Their method of discovery was unique too. They didn't use "multibillion-dollar particle accelerators and orbiting telescopes" but "Andre Geim, 51, and Konstantin Novoselov, 36, both of the University of Manchester, laid the foundation for their discovery with an ordinary piece of Scotch tape" The simple stories are the powerful ones. Our stories may not sound like something from the 700 Club , Guidepost or Decision but, assuming the presence of the Holy Spirit working, they have the ability to share what God has done for us to those in our world. A few fish [John 6, Matthew 15, Mark 8], a couple of coins [Mark and Luke 12] or being faithful in the little things...

Truth is truth!

I have a strange mix of blogs on my Google page. Among them is "Hello, my name is" by Scott Ginsberg. In is post today he steps on my toes and probably a lot of others. It would be a simple thing to attache a Bible verse to each of his points and preach them. So what do you do when you're brought up short by an unexpected source? What if the source is not in your political arena? What if it doesn't wear your religious name tag? Is truth, truth? Ok, gotta go get my office cleaned up... thanks Scott Peace Alan

I'm not lazy; I'm sharing the wealth

It's been my hope to blog more consistently this year. So much for that thought. Instead I've come across a couple of very interesting blogs from others that I am linking too because they've already said it and I'm too lazy to cut and paste a whole article... LOL On Listening to Sermons check out Presbyterian Thoughts or go directly to the survey link . I should tell you there is one for preachers to take too. Another interesting blog today came from The Presbyterian Polis . It is NOT denominational but shares 10 things about the future of the church from a very thoughtful Len Sweet . Hope you take the time to check these out. They are well worth the look. Peace Alan
